Start-up businesses awarded free trade stand at the 2019 Royal County of Berkshire Show

The Royal County of Berkshire Show, which took place on the 21st and 22nd of September at the Newbury Showground, saw the return of the Enterprise Zone, which offered businesses less than a year old an opportunity to showcase their product to a 60,000-strong visitor audience.

This year, we saw 13 fantastic new businesses join us; from clothing and accessories to drinks, homemade soaps, horse products and a business set up to help reduce waste. They were offered a special start-up stand fee, but we also offered 7 lucky businesses the chance to win a free stand. They were entered into a draw and the CEO of the Newbury & District Agricultural Society, Patricia Marks was delighted to announce the winners as part of the Society’s efforts to boost the chances of small business success by giving better access to the large number of visitors the Show attracts.

Patricia Marks commented “It is important that Shows like ours give a platform for new and growing businesses the opportunity to meet and engage with a new audience and use the Show as a way of talking to potential customers both for marketing and sales purposes. We will always attract large crowds so new and emerging businesses have a wonderful opening to promote themselves. We are delighted to be a pioneer of this type of business and enterprise support.”

The winners were:

Charms & Nails: handmade accessories using suede, beads and charms.

The Fabulous Drinks Company: artisan liqueurs bottled in Berkshire.

Sussex Soap: home-grown range of soaps all containing natural oils and butters.

Immy Howard Millinary: handmade headpieces, from vintage inspired classics to fairytale fancies, and anything in between!

Helping the Oceans: helping to reduce waste into our oceans.

D Boost: a delicious blend of fat-free milk and natural juices, with a vitamin D boost!

Holy Horse: designers of stylish products for your horse.
