A festival of farming, food and fun that attracts 60,000 visitors is perfect platform to showcase your products!

Now in its 110th year, the Royal County of Berkshire Show is a two-day festival of farming, food and fun for all the family, and is organised by the Newbury & District Agricultural Society with the main purpose to educate the general public in the need to preserve the countryside and wildlife as well as to promote and support the British agricultural, horticultural, forestry and rural crafts industries.

In 2018, The Royal County of Berkshire Show was one of the few shows to increase its numbers by over 10% year-on-year with just under 60,000 visitors and 500 trade stands over the two days. Our trade stands play an important part of the Show and attract a broad range of unique products, interactive shows and demonstrations.

In our efforts to ensure the Royal County of Berkshire Show is placed firmly on the map as one of the best county shows in the UK, the society have invested heavily in marketing the Show to new businesses and increasing the level of customer service that repeat trade stands receive.

Organisers believe that keeping their exhibitors happy will lead to a better experience for visitors and help the Show to flourish. Our target is to fill the showground and give trade stands all the support they need to have a successful trading experience.

Right now 30% of trade stand bookings are new to the Show or haven’t exhibited in the last couple of years. This means lots of new and exciting brands showcasing their products in September, including our brand new headline sponsors, Clarence Court Eggs, as well as Porsche, the Guards Polo Team and many more exciting names!

Avenue A is already fully booked and spaces for Avenue B are filling up fast. The ever popular Food Hall looks to be bigger than ever and there are only a few spaces left in the Dog Zone, which returns with a brand new sponsor, Burns Pets Food.

The Enterprise Zone returns, and with Enterprise Nation as main sponsor they have been supporting the Show in raising awareness of this fantastic initiative aimed at start-up businesses who have the opportunity to showcase their products and services face-to-face to a new audience. Any thriving new businesses that are less than 2 years old and are interested in attending the Show, please email tradestands@newburyshowground.co.uk to register their interest.

The Society have recently joined the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce and are offering a member-to-member 10% discount on trade stands that book before the end of July. Society representatives are busy networking throughout the region at breakfast and business expos, ensuring the commercial reputation of the Show grows.

Jim Chetwode Head of Sales and Business Development comments “It has been a really exciting year so far, building the business presence of the Show throughout the region as a place to do business and represent the brand and products to a huge audience. As a Sales Team, we have been on the road visiting prospects and Show partners including Highclere Castle, Morley Stores, Moore Blatch and Newbury Racecourse to name a few.

Our new hospitality packages are also proving popular with local companies as a way of thanking staff and entertaining guests. The best part of our networking efforts is everyone has a story to tell about the Show and we look forward to 2019 making even more stories for when we next meet.”

Organisers are also working hard to ensure their Waste Management Plan for the Show is sustainable and eco-conscious as the protection of the environment is essential to the future of agriculture, horticulture, forestry and rural crafts. Working closely with MJ Church in achieving this, the amount of tonnes of waste has dramatically reduced over the last two years. Organisers are also working closely with all contractors and trade stands in ensuring waste is kept to a minimum.
