Livestock & Antibiotics Events - Autumn/Winter 2017
The emerging resistance of bacteria to antibiotics, including those which are said to be critically important in the treatment of infections in humans, is a significant threat worldwide.
To play their part along with the rest of society, livestock farmers have new reduction targets for antibiotic use, developed by the Responsible Use of Medicines in Agriculture (RUMA) alliance.
To be part of this goal, IfA has a team of experts who are active in research on husbandry and other new practices associated with reduced antibiotic use
on farms both in the UK and overseas.
To help farmers play their part in the battle against drug-resistant superbugs, IfA are running a series of workshops throughout England. There will also be a conference specifically for the dairy industry in December.
