ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE OF LIVESTOCK FARMS
Presentation, discussion and networking lunch.
Tuesday 4th July 2017
Berkshire College of Agriculture
Free of charge - all welcome
BCA, NADAS and NFU are pleased to announce the first of what we hope will become a series of professional events to support our local farmers.
Our first event will be a talk and discussion led by Rachel Lawrence of the University of Cambridge, on the topic of economic performance of livestock farms in England.
Rachel's presentation will look at livestock farms across England, differences in regional performance and the characteristics that differentiate the top performing businesses from the average - and include a bit of Brexit analysis too!
With a farming background from Norfolk and a track record of showing unruly cattle that trouble the Stewards at the Royal Norfolk, Rachel is a researcher and communications officer for Rural Business Research, based at the University of Cambridge's Rural Business Unit. RBR's Farm Business Survey (www.farmbusinesssurvey.co.uk) has been going for 80 years, with data based on actual farm accounts from around 2,400 participating farms.
After the presentation and discussion, a light lunch will be provided. There is no charge for attending but we do need to know numbers so booking is essential. If you would like to attend, please email Daren Bowyer, Chief Executive of Newbury & District Agricultural Society (firstname.lastname@example.org) to book your place - no later than 27th June.
